How hot is too hot?

Lets talk SUNSHINE as it's been lovely these past few days!
Your dogs health and welfare is of large importance to me, therefore we need to talk about how hot is too hot for walkies;

During the middle of the day, it is usually the hottest. I will not be walking dogs at these times for their safety.
Fresh water will be provided .
Pop-ins will be offered instead of walks if need be.
I will be changing my time slots to the mornings and evening when it isn't as hot as it would be in the middle of the day.
Anything above 20 degrees Celcius I will be putting a hold on walks and offer other solutions such as pop ins.
No pavement walks will be carried out, fields only.
I may have to cut walks short for your dogs health, it all depends on the day, how your dog reacts to the heat and so forth.

The next few days are above 23 degrees. I will be messaging those with lunch time slots to move them to the mornings or evenings.
Love and light, Jade

Hi, I am Jade.
Owner and creator of The Four Paws Agency!

I have worked with animals for a little over 10 years now. I was very young when I started to volunteer for neighbours or close relatives to look after their animals and have thrived since.

A wide variety of animals have surrounded me my entire life, from visiting many zoos starting from a young age, learning and researching about all different types of animals, working with animals and studying in many different collages about them also.

I have my Animal Care LVL 3, Horse Management LVL 3, Canine First Aid and I have knowledge of Dog Training and Psychology that I brush up on every year to make sure all wildlife and family pets are safe in my hands.

I continue, to study animals as they fascinate me and there is so much to learn. I’m a firm believer, no one knows it all so I am keen to keep up to date with studies, first aid, general requirements and medical needs.

I currently, have six pets of my own. A Russian Tortoise, a Bearded Dragon, two lop-eared rabbits, and two miniature Jack Russell’s.

I help many charities that are closely combined with animal care such as the RSPCA, Deforestations, WWF and so many others.

In my 25 years of life, I’ve owned many wonderful and creative looking animals, such as, Chameleons, Fish, Rats, many rabbits, Dogs, Bearded Dragons, Cats, Horses, Guinea-pigs, Tortoises, birds, Giant African Land Snails and so much more.

Animals are, wholeheartedly, my entire life. I thrive when around them and I am a firm believer they connect without speech but with pure love and commitment.

❌ RAPESEED! ❌

It’s that time of year again where farmers fields have blossomed into pretty yellow flowers, these plants are called rapeseed. Although it may be tempting to place your dog in the mist to take a scenic photo, please avoid this at all costs!

Rapeseed is extremely poisonous for dogs, especially in highly sensitive canines.

Rapeseed is listed by Dogs Trust as toxic to our dogs if ingested and can cause symptoms such as:

❌ Hemolytic Anemia
❌ Blindness
❌ Damaged Nervous System
❌ Digestive Disorders
❌ Breathing Problems

Even walking through these fields should be avoided! In June 2019, a dog has been reported to suffer from severe open wounds after running through a crop of rapeseed.

Please seek immediate veterinary attention if your dog shows any signs of rapeseed poisoning!
